Dear Friends of Animal Protection League,
On Friday, August 28, 2020, Animal Protection League (APL) will host their Inaugural Delta Dog Day UNLEASHED Poker Run. We are inviting you to join us in this fast and fun event in support of improving the lives of homeless and abandoned animals in the City of Stockton and San Joaquin County.
This exciting event will have two starting points – Stockton participants will start at the Garlic Brothers Restaurant, Discover Bay participants will begin at Orwood Resort. Registration will open at 8 am at both spots and will close at 10 am. Breakfast on-the-go offered for all participants. You will have a day of fun on the Delta that will include live music, event shirts and swag bags for all attendees, as well as professional overhead boat crew action shots. From your starting point, you will continue to multiple stops before we all end the run at Windmill Cove with a check-in between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. The evening will conclude with dinner at 4:30 p.m. along with and a high-end silent auction coupled with fun raffie prizes as well as the announcement of the Poker Run winner with top three poker hand prizes totaling over $10,000.
The Animal Protection League (APL) has been in existence since 1996. Every day, our work involves supporting/staffing the Stockton Animal Shelter and the community it serves. We have recently expanded our work to include feeding and assisting the pets of the homeless as well as providing spay and neuter vouchers. There has been vast improvement to animal welfare in Stockton and San Joaquin County, but there is still much to do. We hope you will join us “Chasing Tail on the Delta” and becomming UNLEASHED as we close out the summer of 2020! We are eternally grateful for all levels of partnership. Our work is only possible because of your participation and generosity. You will directly impact our ability to continue to support, help and raise awareness of animals in dire need.
